Brandtjen & Kluge, LLC. recently announced the introduction of two new press options; one for their folder/gluer line and one for their foil stamping, embossing and die cutting press line.
Kluge’s new Cross Carrier unit will be demonstrated on the FlexFold 3600 Automatic Folder/Gluer at Graph Expo ’99 in Chicago, IL, October 17 – 20, Booth #305. This right angle attachment redirects the sheet a full 90 degrees and allows the operator to glue in different directions, with no loss in production speeds. The Cross Carrier unit provides increased flexibility to the folder/gluer and allows a wider variety of work to be produced more efficiently, without sacrificing the production speeds offered by the FlexFold.
The FlexFold, Kluge’s versatile, mid-range folder/gluer, runs sheet sizes from 4″x4″ up to 32″x36″. It’s ideal for lock-bottom boxes, double-vertical pockets, partition packages, point-of-purchase displays, large 8-page formats, cover folds for CD wallets, ticket jackets and mailers. Standard features include a soft-touch screen control console, segmented folder rollers, easy-to-use adjustment point handles, multi-sheet detector, pivoting direct drive, dual vacuum wheels, synchronous belt drive system and self-aligning drive bearings.
For their foil stamping, embossing and die cutting presses, Kluge is introducing new Electronic Hologram and Foil Leafer units, which offer increased flexibility and productivity by producing a maximum image size at maximum press speed. These units provide an impressive hologram leafer draw accuracy of +/- .005″ and a foil leafer draw accuracy of +/- .010″ respectively. The new electronic leafers easily handle up to three standard one inch core foil or hologram rolls, with a separate rewind provided for each draw. Both units feature a touch screen control and run on 220 VAC, 1 phase, 50/60 Hz, which allows them to run efficiently in the U.S. and internationally.
Known as the “work horse of the industry”, the Kluge EHD runs a 15″x24-3/4″ sheet size at operated at speeds up to 3300 iph. It features Kluge’s patented Delayed Dwell, which allows you to double impression time with no loss in production speed. Stamp, emboss or die cut on stocks ranging from onion skin to .200 (5.0 mm) board.
