Paper Specialties Inc., Raleigh, NC, recently installed a Kluge 14×22 EHD Foil Stamping, Embossing and Diecutting Press to bring foil stamping in-house to their wholesale bindery operation. The EHD press is equipped with optional wide magazine and delayed delivery which increases the maximum sheet size to 17″ x 26.25″. Often referred to as the “workhorse of the industry”, the Kluge EHD is known for its durability, reliability, excellent registration, and its ability to feed diecut stock.
A second generation family owned business since 1980, Paper Specialties runs a wide variety of jobs on their Kluge press including business cards, menus, door hangers, and specialty 3 panel wedding folders. Steve Tingley, Vice President of Paper Specialties, has seen recent trends move away from their traditional core business of folding and saddlestitching to the added value finishing jobs of foil stamping, embossing and more intricate diecutting. “We’re a small business and I want to make everything as efficient as possible,” said Steve Tingley. “I can foil, emboss and diecut all on the same press. Plus, with the Kluge, I don’t need as many nicks, if any, the registration is perfect, feeding is great and it’s the perfect platen size. Bottom line, I can accept more work and deliver a high quality product to my customers. I’d love to replace two of my cylinder presses with another Kluge.”
