St. Croix Falls, WI, September 25, 2014 — Kluge, the industry leader in digital print package converting solutions, will demonstrate advancements in die cutting, laser cutting and scoring, foil stamping, and folding and gluing at Graph Expo 2014. At the September 28 – October 1 printing exhibition in Chicago, Kluge will be converting a digitally printed folding carton with products and systems in the following areas:
Laser Cutting and Scoring: Kluge will be showcasing innovative laser converting technology with strategic partner LasX. A complex double-tuck folding carton will be laser cut, scored and etched. Laser cutting and scoring streamlines folding carton manufacturing by reducing lead time, eliminating costly tooling and reducing or eliminating WIP.
Foil Stamping: Kluge, the recognized leader in small format foil stamping presses, will exhibit the Kluge EHD Series press. The press will be configured to foil stamp two separate carton blanks simultaneously and will also be equipped with the new adjustable impression feature which greatly reduces set up and make-ready times.
Folding and Gluing: Kluge will be exhibiting many new features related specifically to package converting with the Kluge ComFold. The ComFold is a completely modular system and the only folder gluer in its class with these unique features: modular alignment system, modular pre-break device, interchangeable bearing bed transports, automatic belt tensioning, modular auto-lock bottom device and interchangeable vacuum transports. The ComFold will complete the final converting process of a laser cut and foil stamped folding carton.
“Discussing the products that will be on display on the Kluge exhibit at Graph Expo, Kluge CEO Michael Aumann commented: “As the digital print market continues to evolve there is a growing demand for converting equipment that matches digital print formats and workflows. The Kluge products at Graph Expo represent powerful solutions that can address challenges that printers and converters face each day due to the unique nature of digitally printed packaging products.”
